1. 研究目的与意义
In the process of cross-cultural communication, we can#8217;t avoid encountering different kinds of problems, which cause misunderstandings and hostilities. We must correctly understand the differences and conflicts of family relationships between China and Western countries. It is exactly wrong to judge other phenomena in our thinking habits or values, moreover we can#8217;t evaluate them with racial prejudice. The aim of the comparative study of family relationships between China and Western countries, is to help people understand it deeply in the process of global economic and cultural development, deepening the impression and avoiding misunderstandings, it is very meaningful for us.
2. 研究内容和预期目标
According to the course of the comparative study of family relationships between Chinese and Western families, I main research the current situation of Chinese and Western family structures, the family values of China and Western countries and the family education of China and Western countries. This essay aims at understanding correctly the family structures of China and Western countries, looking for a more reasonable and perfect way of family education and improving the family relationships of China.

In China, scholars think the cultural values will influence the relationships of the family, and also influence the way of the family education. In the book A Comparative Study in Cultural Values of Family Education between China and Western Countries, Yang ZhiHua says the main cultural differences is values differences, and the main cultural conflicts is values conflicts. As a result, the different values decide the differences of the family relationships of Chinese and Western families.
In the Western countries, the scholars always place an emphasis on researching the family relationships, the cognition and influence of the family education, and they look for a perfect way to deal with the relationships between their families. They give the complete freedom to their children, they respect their families and love with each other.
