1. 研究目的与意义
As is known to everyone, headlines are the #8220;window#8221; of news. It is the first section to catch readers#8217; eyes. Most people decide whether or not to read the news articles usually from their headlines. In addition, English news headlines have gradually formed a special pattern accepted by readers. The scholars call it headline discourse.
Given the complexities of theories of discourse analysis, I#8217;d like to understand these theories fully through analyzing English news headlines. The significance of this study is to provide an important point of view through the study of language and how language is reflected in the form of thoughts, and how to use the powerful words. The purpose is to develop people''''s thinking way they expect.
2. 研究内容和预期目标
According to Halliday''''s Functional Grammar, Fairclough''''s theory, and the theory of famous Chinese scholars, this essay aims at appreciating the objectivity of news and enhancing the reader''''s consciousness of critical analysis of news. In this article, I focus on emphasizing three ways of analyzing the discourses of news headlines, which include the text dimension, discursive practice dimension and the social practice dimension of news headlines. The key issues addressed in this article is how to use these three methods to analyze news headlines and how to show a unique perspective to people.

3. 国内外研究现状
(国内)Until the 1980s, researches on discourse analysis was greatly conducted in China, and closely related to foreign language teaching. In 1988, Huang Guowen published discourse analysis summary, which is an example of the first book in discourse analysis, also the writing of the earliest systematic introduction of discourse analysis theory in China. In addition to monographs, the Chinese scholars also study and argue the definition of discourse, characteristics and classification. Overall, the majority of our own study of discourse analysis is also in the stage of introduction, not to mention with Chinese characteristics discourse analysis. Although there are a large number of theories of discourse analysis, we still does not have our own point of view.
(国外)In the past few decades, the United States and other countries in western Europe have published many books on discourse analysis. One scholar of the British-American school, Z. Harris(1952) coined the term of discourse analysis. Nowadays, there are various schools on discourse analysis, such as Europe and the United States school, Foucault school critical discourse analysis. In western countries, discourse analysis has been involved in many fields, such as linguistics, anthropology, philosophy, communication studies, psychology, sociology and so on.
